The 49ers released their schedule yesterday with two big surprises. The first is the season opener featured on Monday Night Football. The Niners will play the Vikings at 7:20 PM on Monday September 14. The second surprise is a Thursday Night Football game at home against the Seahawks October 22nd at 5:25 PM.
The brightest point of the schedule is getting a bye week before the second Seahawks game. The coldest part of the schedule is three away games in December in traditionally cold locales; Chicago, Cleveland, and Detroit.
